well hello everyone!


Thanks to this new and improved journal skin, I can add buttons above the journal that links to a lot of my music and DJ related stuff. So here's to clearing them up: I've put Soundcloud, Twitter and Myspace up there for your convenience.

Soundcloud is a great tool for many musicians and DJs to upload and share or distribute music to anybody, regardless if they have an account or not. Older radio show episodes will be posted here, so if by any chance you miss a show, you can still listen and download it with ease!

Myspace I put up there just because every living soul uses it anyway, so that's there as well.

Twitter is the mini version of my deviantART journal - about five times a day, I'll post a tweet about anything: something around me, something I just found, replying to someone else on Twitter, the list goes on. Follow me! I"m funny, strange and weird, but then again, you're used to that.

Thank you for making me feel better about what I wrote in the last journal. I'm starting to keep my head up again. I feel it's the circle of life taking its effect, and these things happen in life. I'm looking ahead, yet Zorro and Hilary will remain in my heart forever.

Again, thank you everyone who's helped me recover this quickly. I'm surprised it was this quick, to be honest.

Two close deaths have happened to me recently. As if that wasn't bad enough, they were both over a period of three days.


Zorro, my Doberman Pinscher, has had pain in his hind leg for months. Eventually he would shake it off for a week or two, but the pain would come back and he would whimper. After I left for Sarah Lawrence, little did I realize that the pain would only escalate. Last Monday my mom called me up and told me that she and the rest of the family couldn't take seeing Zorro in that condition any more, and they decided that they would put him down. The day after I called my house-sitter and talked to her about it. She said that my mom, my step-father and all three brothers and step-brothers were there to see it happen. She, however, went to my grandma's house down the street because she wouldn't be able to take it.

Just yesterday (Wednesday at the time of this writing) I called my mom up and she said with no emotion that she was fine.

In some ways I feel this was for the better, as he doesn't feel the pain any longer. But that still won't change any fact that I will miss him dearly.


Fast forward to Wednesday, two days after the loss of Zorro. One of my former schoolmates, along with two others, died in a car crash yesterday. To be honest, I wasn't as close to her as much my actual classmates, as she was a year ahead. The most time we spent together was in the 11th grade play, as both her and I were supporting roles.

But many of my classmates were much closer to her than I was. My friends Caitlin and Katherine just informed me today about this, and they are in just as much shock as I am.

The news report almost brought me to tears. The crash pictures left me dumbstruck, staring at my laptop for well over 5 minutes. [link]

Why did you join this site?
I joined on March 10th, 2006. My friend Jake had an account (still does =PhelixX) and truthfully, I was trying to not join too many sites, as I had just discovered Newgrounds, sprite comics, SomethingAwful.com, EbaumsWorld.com, StupidVideos.com, Fireball20XL.com and all those ridiculous sites. But Jake, being the persuasive idiot that he is (and I mean this in the most loving way - he's still a great friend), made me get an account, and two and a half years later, here we are.

What does your username have to do with you? Is it a combination of your favorite things, or a character of yours?
Back in the time when every week you would find three AOL free trial discs in your mailbox, my first email address was dantastic202@aol.com. I still use it to this day; it's my main email address. It's stuck this long, so it probably won't change any time soon.

What is your current icon of?
It's me. Just me, put through a color filter in Photoshop.

How many watchers do you have and how many people are you currently watching?
I watch 71 people, and 25 watch me. Not quite as good as my Twitter, which I started only a month ago: I watch 97, and 75 watch me.

Do you have more than one account?
I only have one personal account, and I plan to keep it that way. There's no reason for me to switch over.

The latter has most of his "art" offsite.

I actually tend to comment more than I fave, but I probably should be doing both.

What do you typically post on deviantart?
Nowadays whatever I upchuck I post. A year ago it was stories, and I really wish I had the decency to start writing again and finishing my projects.

Do you participate in clubs or contests here on DA?
I do belong to a couple, but they aren't really updated that often, with a strong exception to =sunsets. I am an admin for two of them but again, I haven't really updated them recently. I should probably check up on them.

What is your most popular deviation?
My most commented deviation is incoincidentally my very first one: the first strip to my now defunct comic series: Shadow And His Ultimate Recolo. My most faved is On The Floridian Porch, a picture of a sunset I took during summer break 2007 in St. Petersburg, Florida. It's probably most faved because I submitted it to =sunsets and they commented on the original submission rather than the club submission, which is what you're supposed to do. My most viewed is Sex Drugs Rock and Roll, a picture I took during Dia De Los Muertos in East LA. It's probably because of the brilliant name. That's gotta be it.


What's your favorite submission in your gallery?
All of my deviations each have their own special meaning to me, and I have a story for all of them. But If I had to pick one, it's Chapter 1 of I See Light. It's written beautifully and the character Ian is surreally relatable.

What are the things you wish you could draw better?
Everything. I can't draw for shit, and I really REALLY wish I could draw. Literally just anything. Comics, furries, wolves, ANYTHING.

Are you a subscriber?
I am, and deviantART totally deserves my $30 every year.

How many hours a day do you spend on DA?
I visit a couple times a day, so probably in a 24 hour period, an hour, or an hour and a half at the most.

Are you a fast, slow, or medium typer?
I type about 70 words per minute, so I guess that's relatively fast.

What is your favorite emoticon?
Oh that's easy. --> <-- I use it the most, and it's just perfect.

What is the most annoying thing people ask you?
Unfortunately, people don't really ask me many things. I'm so invisible.

What is the most annoying comment you get?
You're literally trying to make me feel bad, right? o.O

What inspires you?
Anything. It can be driving in the car, listening to music, remembering movie quotes, the list goes on.

Do you use any traditional media?
Again, can't draw for shit.

Have you ever suggested a Daily Deviation?
I've always wondered how you do that...

Everyone has considered leaving DA once or twice. Have you? Why?
Well eventually I suppose I'll have too much to do, but we'll see what happens. Near future? Doubt it.
